WOBO: Upcycling from 1963

WOBO is the beer bottle that essentially doubled as a giant interlocking Lego brick, and was made for building eco-homes back in the early 1960s, invented by the third-generation owner of Heineken back in 1963!

His original intent was to help the lower classes in Curaçao, where he happened to vacation in 1963, build houses for themselves with discarded beer bottles that were already littering their beaches. Although nowadays the idea has been discarded by Heineken a few structures using the iconic beer bottle still remain.
